The Fieldwork story

Good with gardens.
Better with people.

A small studio for people who want to feel more at home outside.

A gardener carefully maintaining a green residential lawn

Our roots

Hands in the soil.
Eyes on the details.

Siblings Mara and Daniel Ellis started the studio around a kitchen table, with a sketchbook, a plant list and a belief that a small garden can change the feel of an entire home.

Mara brings the design eye: how a path arrives, how planting frames a view, and where the evening light lands. Daniel brings the practical side: the right material, the order of the work and the care that helps a garden find its feet.

Together, the studio connects design and ongoing care. The planting is never an afterthought, and the handover is never the end of the conversation.

01

Listen first.

Your garden is part of your home. We start with the way you want to use it, the things you love and the details that bother you.

02

Make it belong.

We respond to the setting, the soil and the seasons. A garden should feel comfortable in its own place.

03

Care for the future.

We think beyond the first photograph. Materials, planting and access should make sense as the garden grows.

A little possibility

What could your
garden become?

A welcoming entrance. A place for long lunches. A greener everyday. Let’s start with what matters to you.
